Posey Reference

I was digging through my pictures and realized I had not cleaned up Posey's original design. So here it is Posey's reference now as well as Opal's reference so you know what she looks like. She is a stubby squid and is so cute!.

Name: Princess Poseidon "Posey"
Cutie Mark : dont got one shes a merpony
Mare/ merpony
Likes: Surprising/messing with "land ponies", her personal guard, her sister, the idea of flying, pegasus/bird feathers (she does not understand them)
Dislikes: Boring diplomatic meetings, being caught sneaking to the surface, Jellyfish,
Personality: Posey is a happy go lucky merpony that likes to do whatever she wants with no regard for the consequences, she is given more freedom than her sister and makes sure she gets good use out of it. Beloved by most she is called the "ponie's princess", she loves to play with other sea ponies regardless of their social standings. She's very optimistic and does not see the bad in ponies (sometimes a bad thing). Very naive. 
Faults: Over curiosity that can lead her to trouble, easily persuaded, stubborn. 
Fears: Having to take the throne she does not want all the responsibility, she thinks if she skips her lessons she wont have proper knowledge to take the throne should anything ever happen to her sister.

Backstory: Posey is the youngest daughter of the royal undersea family, second in line for the throne she likes to skip out on her royal teachings to go play with the land ponies. She loves to play a game of "peek and runaway", she will look for single land ponies on the beach, she pops out of the water catching their attention then when they look around for someone to tell she disappears leaving them wondering if they just saw what they think they saw. One thing she has admired the most in her visits to the surface is the way pegasus can swim in the sky (she later learns it's flying). Her easy (some what spoiled) life has made her ignorant to the idea of bad things happening to her and her over protective guard makes sure no harm ever comes to her so if she ever finds herself in a bad/negative situation she will not know how to handle it. If left on her own she can easily be taken advantage of as she can be persuaded to do anything. Which is why her personal guard shadows her everywhere. She kinda wants to explore the surface land but she also does not want to lose her friends and family in the sea so she has decided that if fate wishes her to see the surface it will take her there. 

Special Somepony: Caeneus (Kane-ne-us) He does not think so as he thinks it's inappropriate to have a relationship. But they are. There is a myth surrounding a character called Caeneus and Poseidon something along the lines of her wanting to turn into a man lets just say I use that later on.

And fate does want her to explore the surface. On one of the days Posey skips out on her classes her sister decides its time to put her tail down and talks to her sister about her unreasonable behavior. Posey does not take getting scolded well and swims off. She does understand that she is acting like a brat but she can't help it, she figures if she skips out on her classes she wont have proper knowledge to take the throne and it wont fall on her to take it over. Noticing that her "shadow" is following her as always she decides to trick him in order to cheer herself up. She swims around finally finding her pet stubby squid Opal. She heads into town and tickles Opal in the center of town causing a large cloud of ink to cover her. Caeneus figuring she is trying to run off again swims into the cloud and sees a figure swim out. Chasing after it he realizes it was Opal and Posey is no where to be found. Giggling to herself she figures she has a few minutes to herself before he finds her again. He always does. She swims up to the surface to lounge on her favorite rock. Call it being at the wrong place at the wrong time just as she was breaking the water a net falls on her and she is hoisted on to a ship turns out the crew had been collecting sea weed when she showed up. Sadly this was not a friendly crew but a band of pirates who see value in a merpony. Caeneus manages to show up in time and tries to save her but he is made for fighting in water not land so they manage to quickly subdue him. Both of them are then tied on the deck as the crew talk about where they can take the merponies to sell, a few city names pop in and out as Posey notices that Caeneus in sitting on a plank that has the other side elevated she also notices a heavy wood box tied directly over the raised side of the plank. She quickly starts rubbing her seashell on the rope holding the box up. Caeneus notices whats she up to and before he can stop her she give him a wink and hes launched into the air far away from the ship. Once in the water he tries to catch the ship again but still tied makes it too difficult to swim fast and has no choice but to return and inform Princess Aqua Pearl of what has happened.
Posey is taken in land but while on route in a train to an unknown city the crate she is being kept in topples over a bridge and she lands in a river. Quickly getting away from the bridge and train tracks she finds herself stuck in a unfamiliar watering hole. This is where a Blue pony and a green pony find her.
